Newsday covered Anthony Gestone’s story (see my earlier post).Yesterday, his family won an important moment in court—the restraining order has been extended until April 29th. For now, they have more time to stand by him, to fight for him, and to make sure his life is not decided too quickly.Since the hospital was ordered to provide nutrition, his family says Tony has been responding—reacting to pain, wiggling his toes, moving his leg, even gripping his father’s hand.And yet, the hospital continues to say there is “no appreciable evidence” of brain activity.His family sees something different.
